Historic Forest Hill Home Remodel

Working closely with the designer and homeowners, Sage carried out an extensive remodel of this classic 1920s era Forest Hill neighborhood home. We touched all surfaces of this property to achieve a seamless integration of classic original features with modern amenities and thoughtful use of space.

In addition to remodeling and expanding the sun-filled kitchen and creating a luxurious new master suite, we built a custom bar with refined lighting and a stunning brass backsplash. We also replicated classic archway features, creating an elegant and consistent flow through the home.

In the process of restoring, replicating, and enhancing many of the original features of the home, we also:

  • Installed new baseboards, casings, and moldings

  • Built and installed all new custom cabinetry

  • Transformed a back staircase into a large master closet

  • Crafted a roomy wine cellar and pantry off the kitchen

  • Converted a hall closet into a laundry area

  • Updated the powder room

  • Restored the period door hardware

  • Created a computer server room

  • Refinished all floors

  • Painted inside and out

We were very fortunate to work on this classic San Francisco home. Sage is committed to preserving and improving our historic housing stock whenever we have the chance. It was a boon to work with owners and a designer who share these values, and we were proud to return to our clients their classic updated and restored home to enjoy for years to come.
